Panna cotta

Panna cotta translates as "cooked cream". It's another tipical Italian dessert. Some people enjoy the panna cotta on its own, but it is usually served with a sauce which adds some sweetness (in the foto with strawberries sauce): the cream itself is supposed to be only subtly sweet.
Ingredients
- 1l of cream
- 100gr of sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 packets of vainilla extract
- 1 cup of "amaretto" (liquor); you can change it by cognac
- some caramel
Preparation
- Beat the eggs and mix them up with the sugar and vainilla.
- Add the amaretto liquor and the cream.
- Cook it in a double boiler at the oven (90').
- Place into a container and cool to room temperature before refrigerating.
- Add some caramel on the top when is going to be eaten.
You can change the caramel and put on some fruit sauce (raspberries, strawberries...)
