Tiramisu
As I have said you Moonlight. There's my TiramisĂș recipe!!!
This is a tipical dessert from Treviso. Stories are told about how Tiramisu was the favorite of Venice's courtesans, who needed a "pick me up" (the literal translation of "tirami-su") to fortify themselves.
Ingredients
The basic ingredients are 3 eggs, 250gr of mascarpone cheese, savoiardi, espresso coffee, liquor (marsala, brandy, rum), 3 spoons of sugar, and shaved chocolate.
Mascarpone is a triple-creme cheese. It's made from the milk of cows.
Savoiardi are sweet, little, fairly dry, finger-shaped sponge cakes. They are similar to "melindros" but harder.
Directions
- Beat until stiff the 3 egg whites.
- Mix up: the egg yolks, mascarpone and sugar.
- Add the 3 egg whites. You have to mix up until it's a cream.
- You have to add some of the liquor to the black coffee (it'd be cold).
- Dip the savoiardi with the coffee and liquor mixture.
- Put them in a container.
- Cover them with the whipped cream.
- Repeat the layers, finishing with the cream.
- Put some shaved chocolate on the top of it.
- Refrigerate for several hours before serving.
If you like chocolate, you'd put some of them between the different layers.
Enjoy it!!!
